ECUAD Student Publication

Taking it’s name from the mischievous primate companion of Emily Carr, WOO is an experimental magazine which aims to showcase student artwork, criticism and creativity. Throughout ever-evolving manifestations, WOO has remained committed to creating publications which promote curiosity and reflect the temperature of the student body. The WOO team facilitates connections with established artists, curators, and alumni with the intention of engaging and contributing to the surrounding arts community. Submissions are accepted 3 times a year for printed editions, and we encourage feedback and written submissions for blog content throughout the year.

Submit your work for WOO Publication’s Spring 2026 Issue!

WOO Publication's Fall issue, “offset”, is seeking works that finds the harmony in the off-centered. Submit your work in any medium: writing, music, photography, painting, sculpture, textiles, illustration, design, printing, etc. Chosen works will be featured in WOO Publication's Spring 2026 printed and digital issue.

This issue of WOO Publication will feature the works in sections based on 4 different sub-themes. Below are your sub-themes (you may either choose to work within one sub-theme, or within the larger “offset” theme):

Students, faculty, and alumni of ECU can submit as many pieces/series as they’d like. Whether your work is a polished piece or a work-in-progress, we encourage works from all disciplines!

videography
music
painting
sculpture
illustration
animation
graphic design
UI/UX design
industrial design
writing
you name it!
*Important note: Your piece may be modified by our designers in this edition (e.g. as a collage). We will still feature and credit your work in-full in our TOC, however you agree to this treatment once your submission is made.

*SOUND) This term, we will be featuring sound works attached to the publication. Please submit your work as .WAV or .DDP file(s), in full length. There is a chance your submission will be edited down, depending on the amount of people we feature.

*VIDEOS) We will be using stills for the publication; if you have particular images you would like to present, please attach them to your submission. We can link to your video using QR codes and will feature it in our digital publication.

RE-PHOTOGRAPHING: If you need help photographing your work, our team can handle that for you. Please submit your own photo for the application so we can get an idea of what your piece looks like.
We are looking for photographs like the example shown below. If your photograph is not of the same quality, please make sure you’ve checked “Yes" on the question of re-photographing in your submission.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When selecting work, please only submit multiple images if it is part of a series. Please submit one piece per submission. You may submit as many times as you like! Please ensure your work is yours.
