ECUAD Student Publication

Taking it’s name from the mischievous primate companion of Emily Carr, WOO is an experimental magazine which aims to showcase student artwork, criticism and creativity. Throughout ever-evolving manifestations, WOO has remained committed to creating publications which promote curiosity and reflect the temperature of the student body. The WOO team facilitates connections with established artists, curators, and alumni with the intention of engaging and contributing to the surrounding arts community. Submissions are accepted 3 times a year for printed editions, and we encourage feedback and written submissions for blog content throughout the year.

The WOO Survival Guide is an expanded archive of responses to WOO Challenges that we've found particularly insightful. This is a participatory blog that hopes to encourage reflection and share casual advice that is relevant to students, creatives, and Vancouverites. The past year was taxing for many (to say the least) and we haven’t had many opportunities to touch base in-person with our school peers. So, for our first WOO Challenge of 2021, we thought it would be nice to start with a simple “how are you?” to catch up before jumping into concrete tips for the ECU Survival Guide. 2021 Feb 16 — New Routines?

Given the large lifestyle shifts many have experienced recently, we became curious about what activities have proven to be helpful in the new day-to-day.
